Welcome to IndyRockets

This site was created as a resource for anyone interested in hobby rocketry in central Indiana.

This is also the source for information on the Rocketeers Of Central Indiana (ROCI), Section #625 of The National Association of Rocketry (NAR). Feel free to check here for information about ROCIs launch events. The launch events are conducted throughout the warmer months at the Academy of Model Aeronautics' Headquarters and Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana. This facility is the finest flying field in the state and ROCI is proud to be the exclusive host of the rocketry events held there. ROCI is not currently conducting meetings as we have lost our meeting place.

Trailer reorganization 1 week 2 days ago #3011

This trailer is 6ft tall, so most people can stand in it. I bought a roll of vinyl flooring and installed it last year as well. I'd move the ramp from the current trailer into this one, so you have a walk-in ramp. My trailer has swing open doors like the current trailer; however, my trailer also has a side door at front, which is nice for loading. Might want to also move the large roof pipe for rails, or make a new one (or two). Biggest problem is cutting the wood block in front, to keep rails from flying out in a sudden stop. Current tube has a 1'5" thick wood plug with 6 screws in it. You can't see it-screws are covered by the cap. But it's there.

The old trailer is fine but a side door and 6' sounds pretty good too! Couple of the PVC pipes for rail storage would be a plus to get them out of the cargo area.
A larger trailer to drag would allow field trips to events like Midwest Power or SMASH/MRA (lots of storage room for larger builds, etc.) With the new one, possibility of sale of old one for some club ducats too. I think the club could use a cash infusion.

Will be there Saturday at 1000 for trailer cleanout. Would also like to take the LVL 2 exam if possible. Can someone bring one?
Going to try to make it to Dayton Saturday for WSR L/M sport launch also. Hmmm - any chance of moving trailer cleanout day to Sunday? If not, no worries, can attend both.

Due to change of plans, I will be able to come up Saturday. I’ll bring my 12ft trailer. You can then see it and decide if you want to use it or old one.

I plan to be there NLT 10:30. I think would be great if we can use Mark's generous donation of the larger trailer. At least temporarily do we need to ask the AMA for permission to park a second trailer? I was thinking we could load everything we want into the new trailer and use the old one to hold duplicate stuff or stuff we are not sure what to do with.

Good idea to use both trailers to sort for now.
My club in TX had a trailer about Mark's size. They built some shelves on both sides for more organized storage.

Hi Mark,
Will be good to see the trailer, although i don't know if there will be a club officer present to sign it over to.

Robert, I don not have a level 2 test. If you plan on going up to Dayton, they may be able to provide one if you let them know. in advance,.
Don't know if someone else in the club that is coming may have one.

The cleanout/reorganize of the trailer will stay at 10AM on Saturday.
