Welcome to IndyRockets

This site was created as a resource for anyone interested in hobby rocketry in central Indiana.

This is also the source for information on the Rocketeers Of Central Indiana (ROCI), Section #625 of The National Association of Rocketry (NAR). Feel free to check here for information about ROCIs launch events. The launch events are conducted throughout the warmer months at the Academy of Model Aeronautics' Headquarters and Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana. This facility is the finest flying field in the state and ROCI is proud to be the exclusive host of the rocketry events held there. ROCI is not currently conducting meetings as we have lost our meeting place.

I'll throw my name into the hat.
Rocket Bio: Launched model rockets back in the 60's and 70's here in Indy getting started from an ad in Boy's Life magazine. Still have some of the old Model Rocket News (and rockets) from that time period. Fast forward to the 80's when my NASA sister and brother-in-law got the family started back into model rockets. Helped my three kids with rocketry science fair projects. Was one of the first members of AMOREA. Helped scout, church and 4H youth groups with doing model rocket projects. Jobs moved me to ID and TX and was involved with clubs there including various outreach efforts. Have slowly worked up to L3. Am a member of NAR (59686) and TRA (13029). I just enjoy launching rockets and being part of the rocketry community. Would be happy to assist the club as an officer.
