Welcome to IndyRockets

This site was created as a resource for anyone interested in hobby rocketry in central Indiana.

This is also the source for information on the Rocketeers Of Central Indiana (ROCI), Section #625 of The National Association of Rocketry (NAR). Feel free to check here for information about ROCIs launch events. The launch events are conducted throughout the warmer months at the Academy of Model Aeronautics' Headquarters and Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana. This facility is the finest flying field in the state and ROCI is proud to be the exclusive host of the rocketry events held there. ROCI is not currently conducting meetings as we have lost our meeting place.

April 14 Zoom Meeting and April 17 Launch 20 hours 51 minutes ago #3215

From Robert - I will be out of town on Tuesday, going to Oklahoma. My mother is 80 and stepdad is close to leaving us, she requested assistance and so I'm headed down there. Hope to get them out in the sunshine to the Tulsa Rocketry launch on Saturday. Think its been a rough year.

On TARC Team:
I chatted with Kelly Neal, the NCCC teacher for the New Castle TARC team, and they are currently putting their rocket on a diet, or possibly doing a redesign, not sure yet. I informed them of the 17 April launch date and hope they will attend.
I will continue to provide email and phone support and answer questions, but would request you guys assist with flight prep and mission timing (2 stopwatches/phones needed).

John K: do you have rocksim? If so, will send you my notes and the designs I did to teach myself what's going on with the mission requirements.

Cheers / Robert

April 14 Zoom Meeting and April 17 Launch 17 hours 2 minutes ago #3216

Hi Robert
i have Rocksim. Also have the Torc team check how they have the altimeter nested. It looked like they went a bit higher than the altitude the altimeter shoes although my eyeballs are not all that calibrated. Altimeter might not be getting a good vented pressure signal
