TOPIC: Buy and launch?

Buy and launch? 7 years 8 months ago #983

I have a young nephew who will be in Indy for a week and a half visiting his grandparents for Christmas. His grandparents are looking for things to do with him. I wondered about buying an Estes rocket kit that he and my Dad or I could assemble and launch. Is it possible to launch a rocket as an individual rather than during a club event somewhere around Indy and what considerations would be involved (e.g., insurance, airport flight paths, etc.) if it is possible?

Thanks very much,

Dick Ellis

Launching an Estes rocket is not an issue, but you do want to be sure to use a decent launch location like a nice big field or a park with no trees. Back yards are not a very good idea...
