Welcome to IndyRockets

This site was created as a resource for anyone interested in hobby rocketry in central Indiana.

This is also the source for information on the Rocketeers Of Central Indiana (ROCI), Section #625 of The National Association of Rocketry (NAR). Feel free to check here for information about ROCIs launch events. The launch events are conducted throughout the warmer months at the Academy of Model Aeronautics' Headquarters and Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana. This facility is the finest flying field in the state and ROCI is proud to be the exclusive host of the rocketry events held there. ROCI is not currently conducting meetings as we have lost our meeting place.

Mark,
How many new launch pads are you making?

Took a ride to Muncie (my exciting July 4th outing) and got the rails and some of the rods. We have 3 8ft 1010 rails, 2 6 ft 1010 rails one 8 ft 1515 rail with two slots and various rods , some in better shape than other. As far as the pads, I found 3 complete setups and there is parts for one, maybe two more, but they are not pristine by any means. I am going to clean the rails and rods.If I have time, i will return them this weekend, If not, I will bring them back up on the 20th.

Soaking in vinegar and spraying off with a jet of water seems to work pretty good. Not perfect, but certainly cleaner looking than before. One rod has a standoff and some thumb screw holding the mounting rod to the rail and wont fit into the tube I am soaking them in, so it is only getting cleaned down to the standoff. I should finish these today and get them back to the trailer this weekend. With the existing rails, I think we can get by on buying 12 1010 rails and one 1515 rail, plus hardware.

Does anyone have a PA we can use? Also, still need scales. Any ideas on setting up lines/crowd control?
