Welcome to IndyRockets

This site was created as a resource for anyone interested in hobby rocketry in central Indiana.

This is also the source for information on the Rocketeers Of Central Indiana (ROCI), Section #625 of The National Association of Rocketry (NAR). Feel free to check here for information about ROCIs launch events. The launch events are conducted throughout the warmer months at the Academy of Model Aeronautics' Headquarters and Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana. This facility is the finest flying field in the state and ROCI is proud to be the exclusive host of the rocketry events held there. ROCI is not currently conducting meetings as we have lost our meeting place.

If there is an opportunity to do so on Saturday 7/6, I plan to test the launch controller. Anyone wishing to help burn igniters is welcome.

Hi Mario,
I have two smaller scales that we can use, but neither is good for a heavt rocket. Haven't dug them out to see what exactly the range of the scales are.I think the idea you had about bringing the low power rockets in through one door to the pavilion to a table and the high/mid in through another would work. Probably middle and one end and let everybody out through the other end.
With regards to testing the controllers, I can help, but will be tied up until about 10AM so wouldn't be able to get over your way until noon depending on where you live.I can also bring along some of the nice new estes igniters to sacrifice. Would rather keep the good ones to launch things with. If that will work email me your address.

i plan on ordering 12 1010 rails, 1 1515 rail and t nuts and bolts this weekend. If all goes well I will be able to go get them next week.
Mark, would you want button head screws, 3/4 in long? I am thinking 1/4 20 for the 1010 and 5/16-18 for the 1515. I will also need to know where to bring them, although I wont be able to do anything with them this coming weekend.

Any club members who object, please speak up now.

John: bolts sound fine. We will use a piece of 1/2" metal rod for the 1010 rails, and a piece of 5/8" rod for mounting the 1515. I have both a 1010and 1515 rail of my own, so I don't need one for a pattern. We can probably meet somewhere on north side of Indy--I have been working on Rangeline Road in Carmel on a regular basis.

Mario: I have a Radio Shack PA that runs on 120 or 12V.Brand new in the box. I think it is a 20W system.
