Welcome to IndyRockets

This site was created as a resource for anyone interested in hobby rocketry in central Indiana.

This is also the source for information on the Rocketeers Of Central Indiana (ROCI), Section #625 of The National Association of Rocketry (NAR). Feel free to check here for information about ROCIs launch events. The launch events are conducted throughout the warmer months at the Academy of Model Aeronautics' Headquarters and Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana. This facility is the finest flying field in the state and ROCI is proud to be the exclusive host of the rocketry events held there. ROCI is not currently conducting meetings as we have lost our meeting place.

sorry guys but I will not be able to attend this weekend.
I have become infected with the creeping crud...better known as a sinus infection with the common cold!

Have fun...fly em high, return them all!

My youngest wants to go and launch the rocket she received the last time we were out. Her sister has a volleyball conference tourney on Saturday, but we're going to try to get out on Sunday. I originally figured we'd just bring hers and maybe one I built from an Estes kit not long ago that hasn't even been painted yet, much less launched. But I may look at a few others between now and then to see if they are in any condition to launch. Last time I had a shock cord or two snap at ejection.

Thanks to everyone for coming out and thanks to everyone for the help at reorganizing our trailer at the end.

A couple of pictures taken later in the day. One of an igniter being spit out and one of my Doorknob. Don't know what was going on with the phone camera, but interesting red on the engine exhaust and burning igniter.
