Welcome to IndyRockets

This site was created as a resource for anyone interested in hobby rocketry in central Indiana.

This is also the source for information on the Rocketeers Of Central Indiana (ROCI), Section #625 of The National Association of Rocketry (NAR). Feel free to check here for information about ROCIs launch events. The launch events are conducted throughout the warmer months at the Academy of Model Aeronautics' Headquarters and Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana. This facility is the finest flying field in the state and ROCI is proud to be the exclusive host of the rocketry events held there. ROCI is not currently conducting meetings as we have lost our meeting place.

CIRF launch 8 and 9 May with zoom meeting 5 May 1 month 2 weeks ago #3235

I am printing name tags, and I will be at the CIRFF launch Saturday morning.  But I can't stay all day, and I learned years ago to NOT go to a Sunday launch on Mother's Day!  So I will need to turn registration duties over to someone else.

Also, I do NOT have any CIRFF registration forms, can someone print some out and bring them?  Or maybe there are some in the trailer.  Maybe we could switch to a sign-up list rather than the separate forms.

Sorry I missed the zoom meeting.  And WOW, we are launching until 11:00 PM?!...

Hi all,
The timeframe of the launches on 8 and 9 May will be from 10AM to 5PM, not the originally posted time.

There is no parking in the grass around the pavilion or anywhere on the AMA site. We are also not allowed to park on the road that runs by the pavilion, except to load or unload. All vehicles must be parked in the gravel parking lot unless loading or unloading.
Thanks,

Six launch boxes are ready for this weekend. Two were damaged during the upgrade and need some TLC.

Thanks Mario. I think we will only need 4, so this will give some back ups

Looking at the weather for this weekend and while Saturday looks pretty good, Sunday does not. I will make the call regarding flying on Sunday by noon tomorrow. Given that, we will only be collecting launch fees for a single day of flying ($5 for club members, $10 for non members). I will post a printout of the ground level wind predictions on our facebook page. Ground level winds are mostly from the NW all day while the winds at 6000 ft are more from the west.
